February 19, 2005 - GOOD NEWS!
The Port Congestion Surcharge has been rescinded. We are pleased
to announce that our fees will remain the same.
January 21, 2005
- A Port Congestion Surcharge will go into effect on February
20, 2005 for all cargo carried into George Town, Grand Cayman.
This charge has been implemented as a result of the significant
vessel delays incurred while berthing in George Town. These
delays are creating significant increases in operational costs
and also impacting delivery time locally. These fees are implemented
by the cargo ship companies. Caribbean Logistics has no control
over these charges. We estimate that this will result in a
20% increase in deliveries to Grand Cayman. We anticipate
that this will be a temporary situation and will be lifted
once the Georgetown port resumes normal operations.
